Swiss Minarets

What I love about the Swiss minarets debate is that it's so ridiculous yet very serious at the same time.

When you think of Switzerland, you would normally associate it with chocolate or watches or the most ridiculous of Swiss inventions, the Swiss army knife, but minarets? How did this happen?

Minarets were invented a very long time ago to help market Islam. The muezzin would climb up to the top and call the faithful to prayers five times a day. The idea was if you erect a high mnaret and get a muezzin with a strong tenor voice, you are guaranteed to bring in more people to the mosque.

In the 21st century you dont really need to go through all that trouble. Calls to prayer can be beamed over radio, TV, the internet and mobile phones, so the high minaret is obsolete.

What is more amusing is that the 4 existing minarets in Switzerland are not allowed to broadcast the call to prayer yet the Swiss Muslims want more of them? Why? What good is a church tower if you are not allowed to ring the bells?

I will try to put myself in a Swiss Muslim's shoes (or slippers). This is what I would probably be saying if I was one: You won't allow me to use the minaret to call for my prayers, OK but I still want one. You got a problem with that? I like my mosque with a minaret sticking out of it.

Muslims accuse the anti-muslim right wingers in Europe of racism, but the funny thing is that Muslims and right wing racists have a lot in common. They are both anti gay and anti semitic misogynists with false illusions of superiority. Their minds work in the same screwed up way.

The serious part of this debate is about how democracy is not always right and can be used to trample minorities, Democracy has been a vehicle for the ascent of some very nasty dudes, Nazis, BNP, Hamas, GIA, Muslim Brothers are only a few. What do you do about that?

Then there is the "misunderstanding" of Muslims. Lots of TV shows in the west (like The News) portray Muslims in a very negative way which in turn causes non-muslims to misunderstand them and imagine minarets as a symbol of evil Islamic occupation and see Muslims as polutants of the western civilization. Do they have a point?

The talk about architectural clash is stupid, I am sure clever Muslim architects can design something compatible with Swiss cities, but it is not about that.

There is a whiff of islamophobia in the ban and I am loving it, because moderate Muslims dont give two squirts of piss about having minarets in Geneva and tolerant Europeans dont mind Muslims building the dick shaped structures.

This is clash between the racists and the fundis. Let it rage.

Egypt Vs Algeria... Pure Hatred

There are rumours that Algerian and Egyptians soccer fans died in clashes and attacks and confirmed news that many were injured and others died from heart attacks...

The hatred and incitement is mad. A TV presenter openly called for killing Algerians in Egypt in retaliation against attacks on Egyptians in Sudan after the match.

Sports were not meant for us. When people go out to attack and kill because they won or lost a football match it proves how screwed up in the head they are.

Now lets look at this from a slightly different angle. Something doesn't make sense here because Algerians and Egyptians should be best buddies. They have so much in common: Both have a passion for religious fundamentalism. They love the hijab and the niqab. They live under dictatorships. They are poor and oppressed. Not very keen on hard work. Hypocrites, stupid, cowards.

Come on assholes keep up the stoning and the beating till you finish each other off. You dont really deserve to live.

Fuck these crazy Imams

This little shit is Mohammed Al Habdan, a Saudi Imam who has recently called on women to wear a full veil, or niqab, that reveals only one eye.

According to this moron, a niqab that shows both eyes is too sexy. The whole veil thing is getting very silly. First they came up with the veil that covers the hair, then the niqab, and now the one eye business.

The dick head Habdan is also quoted as saying that women should not get out of their homes at all unless they are sick or dying and need urgent medical attention.

He has also criticized the Saudi information minister because the Saudi TV (which is one of the most dull TV channels in the whole world) is too obscene.

Somebody has to stop those crazy imams from spreading their cancerous poison. If this madness was restricted to the confines of the borders of Saudi Arabia it would have been fine. The danger is that this shit travels around very fast and nowhere in the world can be immune.

Saudi Clerics Have Gone Mad

The role of religious authorities in any religion is usually to guide their followers along the path of morality and virtue and I have no problem with that concept.

But in Saudi Arabia it doesn't quite work this way. Two very interesting Fatwas have been issued lately. Sheikh Saleh Lihedan, a leading Saudi cleric has sanctioned the killing of media tycoons he blames for causing the “deviance of thousands of people.”

Mr. Lihedan thinks that some Arab TV channels are not kosher (or halal) and he is perfectly entitled to that opinion. The problem is, what does he do about it? He openly calls for the killing of innocent people. That for me does not fit very well with morality and virtue.

The other fatwa was issued by another prominent Saudi cleric, Sheikh Abdallah Bin Jebrin. He said on the Wahabi TV channel "Al Majd" that journalists who criticize clerics should be fired from their jobs and jailed and tortured. What a fucking dick head.

See what they are trying to say? If we dont like what you're doing we'll kill you and you're not even allowed to criticize us.

Its payback time for Bashir

Accusing the Sudanese president of genocide in Darfur is so sweet.

Not only because it serves justice to his victims, but also because it reminds Arab leaders that the international community will fry their big asses if they fuck up.

Saddam was executed and now its Bashir's turn. 18 more to go. How about setting the IAHC (The International Ass Hole Court) to try all the muftis and mullahs and sheikhs who spread hatred and ignorance like this asshole or maybe this one?

They Killed Bhutto

News from Pakistan yesterday is very depressing. The fact is, whether Binazir Bhutto was killed by Al Qaeda proper or whether Musharaf somehow inspired them to do it, she was killed by a Jihadist Islamist.

Her killers are hysterical hypocrites who cry and moan about Musharaf's tyranny then they turn around and kill innocent people for their jihadist cause. The mother fucker who killed her is the kind of person who would rather die than be ruled by a bright educated woman who believes in democracy and at the same time he would passionately preach about how women are much better off living under the rule of mullahs and Sheikhs.

Imagine what the world would be like if in a few years when you might have fucked up nuclear armed Islamic regimes in Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Egypt, Gaza, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Libya, Syria... 9/11 will look like a joke.

The people of Pakistan are being double screwed by the corrupt "secular" Musharaf and the mad Qaeda dick heads with little hope for anything better. Egyptians, Palestinians, Jordanians and many other people in "Muslim" states are subjected to the same kind of double penetration.

A British children’s author who named a mole Mohammed to promote multiculturalism has renamed it Morgan for fear of offending Muslims.

The author said that he tried “hard to embrace other cultures and I had no idea it would backfire like this. I was in Egypt this year and everyone was called Mohammed. I just thought it was a popular name”.

It's sad that of all people, those who work on educating Muslim kids or promoting tolerance twards Muslims should fear being rewarded with a fatwa or demonstrations calling for their execution.

There is something seriously wrong here.

While carrying banners that read " revenge revenge revenge", thousands of peace loving Sudanese angels, many carrying knives and sticks, peacefully protested in Khartoum today after prayers to the all merciful, calling for the execution of the 54 year old British teacher Gillian Gibbons convicted of insulting Islam for letting her students name a teddy bear Muhammad.

At the same time, Gillian Gibbons said from her prison cell that she does not want any resentment towards Muslim people.

The contrast is amazing.

The role of the Sudanese government in this crisis is equally amazing. Troops were at the demonstration, but they did not interfere. I wonder if they would have done the same if this was an anti-government demonstration. They probably would have killed them all.

On Insulting Islam In Sudan

The Sudanese government decided Wednesday to charge a British primary school teacher with blasphemy, inciting hatred and insulting Islam after she allowed her 7-year-old students to name a class teddy bear Muhammad.

Now we have to remember that this is a government that organized the massacre of 200,000 of its own people in Darfur, so we are talking about serious psychotic dick heads here.

It's futile to find a logical explanation for deranged behavior. Do they really believe that they are defending Islam? I don't think so simply because they are fucking mass murderers. Are they just trying to annoy Britain because of the stand-off with the west over Darfur? I don't how this can help them in any way.

The Sudanese government dudes are making big fools out of themselves. I feel sorry for the Sudanese people who are ruled by such idiots, but aren't we all?

A British primary school teacher in Sudan is facing 40 lashes and up to six months in prison after allowing her pupils to name a teddy bear Mohammed.

The Palestinian's Historic Achievement

I suspect that the Palestinians are the first people in the history of mankind to kill each other while under occupation. Has this ever happened before?

How can this happen? This is what you get when you have crazy Islamists who pretend that they want to save their people, but in reality they want power.

But is power in Gaza worth killing for in the name of god or in any other name? Who wants to be the Palestinian prime minister and be in charge of this fucking mess?

Hamas stands for "Islamic resistance movement". It is not clear to me now what it is exactly they are resisting.

This image captured today and beamed on TV screens around the world is going to go down in history of the middle east.

Its shows surrendering Fatah fighters, some being brought out in their underwear with their arms in the air as the green flag of Hamas was raised above the Preventive Security headquarters in Gaza City.

This is the worst possible thing that can happen to the Palestinians. Hamas has seriously screwed all Palestinians.

The problem with Islamists is that they think they are god's gift to us, but in fact they are the ones who will ensure our destruction. Egypt is not very far from the same fate.

An Egyptian living in Saudi Arabia has been sentenced to death (by beheading) for desecrating the Koran. The man, who works as a pharmacist, was accused of leaving copies of the Muslim holy book in a mosque's washrooms. A court found the man guilty of no longer being a Muslim because of his acts and 'violating the boundaries set by God'. Ali Al-Ahmed, a prominent Saudi rights activist who has followed the case, said the verdict raised questions about Saudi Arabia's justice system, which rights groups have criticised over a lack of legal representation and codified laws. Al-Ahmed said: "The man is Muslim and an Egyptian. I believe he was set up by extremists zealots."

I am shocked that not one Egyptian official has spoken out against this.

Holy Shit

Al-Azhar is a loose cannon. After successfully jailing Kareem Amer, they are now going after the novelist Nawal El Saadawi.

Al Azhar is threatening legal action against Saadawi, accusing her of insulting religions. Saadawi is 75 years old and has published more than 40 books that have been translated into dozens of languages, yet these cunts want to jail her, so she rightly decided to leave Egypt. I don't blame her.

Saadawi said that she was fed up with the complacency and cowardice of Egyptian intellectuals and their unwillingness to stand up to intimidation. She is right. Egyptian so called "intellectuals" are pussies and just as bad as the Azhar assholes who want to jail Saadawi.

Now this is the really weird part. Sheikh Mohammed Sayyed Tantawi (the Sheikh of Al Azhar) will be visiting Pope Benedict in the Vatican this month.

Islamists have condemned Tantawi's planned visit because the Pope was accused last year of insulting Islam. Tantawi's critics say that if he meets the Pope then he condones the Pope's insults to Islam. Who knows, maybe they will take legal action against Tantawi.

There is a bit of a contradiction here. How can Tantawi call for Saadawi to be jailed for insulting Islam and then go visit the Pope, who is also accused by Islamists of insulting Islam? A bit of double standards? maybe, but personally, I am not surprized that Tantawi and the Pope want to meet, after all these two guys have alot in common, they are both fascists.

I have a very good solution for all this shit. I think that The Pope, Tantawi and all the other Azhar guys who want to sue Saadawi, should participate in the Beijing Olympics next year.

They should take part in the javelin throw competitions, as targets.

Good morning Taliban

Egypt is turning into a scary place. After the blogger Kareem Amer was sentenced to 4 years in prison for insulting Islam and the Egyptian president it seems that the fundamentalists are emboldened and pushing harder for their agenda.

All copies of Egyptian feminist writer, activist and medical doctor Nawal Al Saadawi's latest book, God Resigns in the Summit Meeting, were removed from circulation and destroyed last week by her publisher.

Saadawi and her daughter, Dr. Mona Helmi, were interrogated by a general prosecutor on January 28 after being accused of renouncing religion.

And there are reports that Saadawi has fled
Egypt because of concerns about her safety.

I am pessimistic :(

Forced Divorce In Saudi Arabia

As if it's not enough that Saudi Arabia has the worst record on women's rights in the world where women have no voting rights, almost no employment rights and are barred from even driving.

The latest craze in the beautiful country of Saudi Arabia is forced divorce. That's when a married woman's family decide that they don't like their son in law, so they go to a hardline Islamic court to dissolve the marriage so that later they can force the poor woman to marry the "right" man.

The kingdom has been ruled since the 1920s by the House of Saud whose clerical allies, the Wahhabists, have imposed an austere state faith on what had been a religiously diverse mixture of Muslims with Sunni, Shia and Sufi communities.

I Want To Ban Muftis

According to the Saudi newspaper Al Watan, the grand mufti of Saudi Arabia, sheikh Abdelaziz bin Abdallah banned Valentine's Day, i.e.: you go to hell if you celebrate Valentine's Day. I'm not a Valentine's Day freak myself, but this banning mentality really pisses me off. I have had enough of the muftis crap. If you ask me, muftis should be banned.

They call this training?

A new training DVD will be distributed to nearly 200,000 Homeland Security employees in the US. A panel of Arab and Muslim scholars shown in the training video are supposed to enlighten the homeland security guys about the Arab / Muslim culture.

In the video, an Arab man is being questioned by law-enforcement officers and suddenly becomes uncooperative and refuses to make eye contact.

Question: is this suspicious behavior or a clash of cultures?

According to the panel: "It's a misconception that the action is evasive -- Arab culture considers it impolite to stare."

I don't get it, so the guy being questioned wants to be polite to his interrogators?
