Stereotyping is leading to terror, says first Muslim Miss England

The first Muslim to be crowned Miss England has warned that stereotyping members of her British Muslim community is leading some towards extremism.

Hammasa Kohistani made history last year when she was chosen to represent England in the Miss World pageant.

One year on, she said that attitudes towards Mislims in Britain has got worse, and that Muslims' attitude to British people has got worse.

In her words: "Even moderate Muslims are turning to terrorism to prove themselves. They think they might as well support it because they are stereotyped anyway."

Is she right?

Egyptian Police, We Love You!

Notice the repetitive slapping technique in videos 2 and 3.

Egyptian police, you are so brave and wonderful. We love you.

Again

Egyptian rescuers work at the site of the four-storey building which collapsed in Cairo's Hadeiq al-Kubba neighbourhood 28 August 2006. At least three Egyptians died when two buildings collapsed in separate incidents, police said, adding that several people were still trapped under the rubble.

Barefoot Cabbies

I hate it when this happens. You get into a cab and you find the driver hasnt got any shoes on. It's not the smelly feet that piss me off. There's got to be a safety issue here. I mean how hard can you hit the breaks without your shoes??

Friday Prayers

When I was growing up in Cairo, not everybody used to do the Friday prayer thing. Lately it seems that EVERYBODY does it. A few weeks ago I went out around the Friday prayer time. The little mosque on my street was full and people were spilling out on the sidewalk. It took me 2 minutes to walk past the mosque and to my car during which I heard the Imam cursing Jews Christians and Muslims who dont pray (me). Had I hanged around a bit longer, I would have probably heard the fat fuck cursing the whole world (except ofcoarse the good people who are praying with him). I drove off and could not find a soul on the streets. State Security soldiers were praying, garbage collectors were praying... hardly any cars on the streets. Cairo was not like this a few years ago. Whatever happened to us?

Fucked Up

I was enjoying the sun and sea during my summer vacation when I was confronted by this horrific scene. The guy in the picture is clearly having fun, and he sees nothing wrong with covering up his wife in black on the fucking beach. Bizarre... Where was this picture taken? you might inquire? Saudi Arabia? Iran? No. It's in Egypt, where not so many years ago we used to take pride in being one of the most liberal countries in the Middle East.
