Sawiris and the Salafi Micky Mouse

This is the picture that angered the Salafis and made them take Naguib Sawiris to court and accuse him of insulting Islam.

First of all its a ridiculous accusation because he did not insult Islam. He poked fun at the absurd way the salafis dress. Completely different things. If you think that salafis dress like clowns you are not insulting Islam.

Even the radical Muslim Brothers dont dress like the idiot salafis and they dont call for women to wear the oppressive niqab.

By posting this picture Sawiris highlighted something very important, which is how the salafis are trying to enforce their stupidity on us and demonize anyone who would dare to object.

The salafis are adopting the attire of their fellow idiots, the Saudi wahabis which according to them is what prophet Mohammad and his followers used to wear 1400 years ago.

But as the late and great Farag Fouda explains in this clip, there is no such thing as "Islamic dress". The prophet used to wear the clothes that were common in his days. Even his enemies used to wear the same clothes.

Basically what the salafis are trying here is to force their twisted ideology on us and to incite and agitate against Christians and the fact that their deranged lawsuit was accepted by the judicial is worrying.

Weird

Today our prime minister Essam Sharaf decided to cancel the summer daylight saving time. No disrespect meant here, but has he got nothing more important to do? I think this is not a matter for the prime minister. He should leave this to experts to decide on. It seems that Sharaf is showing signs of revolution drunkenness.

Assholes Exposed

One thing I really like about the Jan 25 revolution is that it is exposing a lot of hypocricy and assholiness (one example in my previous post).

Another asshole is the salafi preacher Abdel Moneim al-Shahat who said that: "legislation drawn up by the people is the most dangerous element of democracy."

Does this dickhead know what he is talking about? That's the whole idea of democracy you moron. If you don't like it, take your fundamentalist ass to Saudi Arabia.

He spewed some more shit about Christians and women which I am not going to go into.

And here's another asshole just to complete my little collection of the day.

Magdi Hussein, secretary general of the Islamic-oriented Labor Party, said during a visit to Tehran that Egypt’s revolution had been inspired by Iran’s 1979 revolution.

Can you believe this? Egypt's revolution inspired by Iran, one of the most repressive theocracies on the face of the earth???

Oh, and he says he intends to run for president. Well you are not getting my vote you, ayatollah ass licker.

Maikel Nabil

I don't know what the blogger Maikel Nabil said about the army, but whatever it was he should not have been referred to a military tribunal. This is so wrong and makes me feel that the talk about freedom in Egypt is just delusional. This is shameful.

Bongo

Just try to follow the sequence of events in this article:

6th of May: The 45 year old wife of Gabon's president Omar Bongo dies. A presidential statement said he had "suffered a shock of great emotional intensity after the premature death of his young wife following a long illness." And he temporarily suspends his duties to rest and mourn the death of his beloved wife.

8th of June: Omar Bongo dies. There are speculations that the corrupt leader's son (who happens to be the defence minister) will take over!

Now with the death of Bongo who ruled Gabon for 41 years, our president Mubarak becomes the longest serving president in Africa.

"Hey. Gaddafi has been in power since 1969", I hear you shouting.

Maybe... but remember that Gaddafi gave up power in 1979 and the Libyan people took over.

Being the longest serving African president is quite an achievement. You only have to do 4 or 5 years to be the longest serving president in Europe, but those African dudes are very hard to beat.

What did he do?

Its not the first time that something like this happens. An unemployed Egyptian walks up to the Israeli embassy in Cairo to ask for a work visa. Now everytime this happens, the applicant gets arrested for an unknown period of time. Why? Do these people break any law by doing what they did?

Has cyber-terror reached new depths?

Fibre-optic cables carrying internet traffic are snapping all around the Middle East. The conspiracy theorists have started to point fingers at Islamic fundies. I wouldn't rule this out firstly because these cables are very strong and they don't just snap and secondly because I hate the fundies and I am always happy to put the blame on them.

Check out this cool graphic. I never knew that the whole world was physically connected with these cables. I wrongly thought internet traffic was mainly through satellites.

Update:

According to this, the two Alexandria cables were not ripped by ships, so is Al Qaeda going to claim responsibiity?
