Egypt's Army

If the army is violently quashing peaceful demonstrators and arresting bloggers and is accused of torture and subjecting female detainees to virginity tests and if at the same time the salafis and muslim brothers are gaining ground, then I am worried about what will come next.

Maikel Nabil

I don't know what the blogger Maikel Nabil said about the army, but whatever it was he should not have been referred to a military tribunal. This is so wrong and makes me feel that the talk about freedom in Egypt is just delusional. This is shameful.

WTF

The Egyptian authorities arrested and will prosecute activists and bloggers who traveled to Nagaa Hamadi to meet the families of the Copts who were massacred on Christmas eve and express solidarity with them. What the fuck will they accuse them of?

We Will Not Forget Kareem Soliman

Kareem Soliman has been locked up in jail for the past three years for blogging. This week a court in Egypt upheld his unfair 4 year prison sentence.

Kareem was 22 when he was jailed and he will be 26 when he gets out of prison. They wasted 4 of the best years of this innocent young man's life. Shame
