Gamal Mubarak's Wedding
Interesting piece on the upcoming wedding of Mubarak's son and heir apparent, Gamal.
The idea of a functioning democracy in Egypt is so.... "not going to happen", which means that the Gamal will probably be the next president if he gets the support of the military.

Intersting article.
While I am no fan of the Muburak ruling dynasty, what are the alternatives?? There is currently (and sadly) only one alternative to the Muburaks and it's not Ayman Nour or any other reasonable/secular politician...the ONLY alternative right now is the Ikhwan.
So it comes down to either Jimmy Muburak or the Islamists. It seems that in Egyptian politics the goal is to have someone in power who won't do too much damage. It's sadly not about electing someone that will improve Egypt but rather putting someone in power who won't DESTROY Egypt. Nice options, huh? There is little doubt what Egypt would look like under the Ikhwan's vision of an Egyptian Islamist state.
